Program

The IFSS 2017  program comprises of three key segments,  pre-symposium (29 June- 01 July)  symposium ( 2 July – 17 July) and post-symposium ( 18 – 22 July). The pre-symposium program is centred around tours in the Cape Winelands region, adventure activities and an exclusive insight on Stellenbosch university, one of the leading forestry institutions in the country. The main program for the 45th IFSS will explore the theme,“Practicing Forestry in a diverse environment: “Siyaphi”:Where to from Here in a series of excursions ,dialogues and academic presentations. This theme seeks to explore the rapidly changing nature of forestry as social components become as important as the traditional biophysical components, landscapes are transforming and humanity has become a key driver of global change.  IFSA General assembly sessions  will also be held  concurrently with the 45th IFSS.  The IFSS route will cover five of the nine provinces and follow a coastal route along the Great Escarpment.   A tentative program is given. More details on the excursions and tours will be available in due course

The post-symposium is an option to attend a prominent Southen African forest science symposium, with the possibility of presenting your work. Details for participation will be availed soon.
